मित्रांनो, नौभास मानखुर्द, मुंबईतील कष्टकरी वस्ती असलेल्या साठे नगरच्या भागात शहीद भगतसिंह वाचनालय चालवते. जिथे विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी अभ्यासिका, शहीद राजगुरू शिक्षण सहायता केंद्र चालवले जाते तसेच नियमितरित्या विविध विषयांवर चर्चासत्रे, फिल्म स्क्रिनिंग आयोजित केले जातात. मानखुर्दमधील इतर भागांत आम्ही शहीद सुखदेव फिरते वाचनालय चालवतो ज्याद्वारे भगतसिंहांच्या पुस्तकांसोबतच इतिहास, भूगोल, इत्यादी विषयांची पुस्तके, जगभरातील प्रगतिशील साहित्य आम्ही घरोघरी पोहचवण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो. नौभासची ही सर्व कामे कुठल्या सरकारी अनुदानावर किंवा कंपन्यांच्या सी.एस. आर फंडस् द्वारे पैसे उभे करून चालत नाही तर मानखुर्दमधील कष्टकरी जनता आणि प्रगतिशील व्यक्तींच्या बळावर चालतात. आम्ही एन. जी.ओ. नाही आहोत ज्यांनी मानखुर्द-गोवंडीला त्यांच्या प्रयोगांचे एक केंद्र बनवले आहे जिथे ते कष्टकरी जनतेला त्यांच्या निःशुल्क आणि समान शिक्षणाच्या, आवासाच्या, रोजगाराच्या अधिकारासाठी लढण्यासाठी परावृत्त करून निष्क्रिय बनवतात जेणे करून त्यांनी व्यवस्थेवर प्रश्न उभे करू नयेत. याउलट सर्व एन. जी. ओ. त्यांच्या कॉर्पोरेट मालकांचे तळवे चाटण्याचे काम करतात. कष्टकरी जनतेला एक गरीब, दयेस पात्र बनवून त्यांच्या मर्जीप्रमाणे त्यांना हवं ते भीक म्हणून आपल्यावर फेकतात तेही त्याच नफ्यातून जो आपल्या श्रमाचे शोषण करून त्यांनी कमावला आहे.
म्हणून आम्ही प्रगतिशील व्यक्तींना पुढे येऊन आमच्या कामासाठी सहाय्य करण्याचे आवाहन करत आहोत जसं मानखुर्दमधील कष्टकरी जनता करते.

Naujawan Bharat Sabha has been organizing weekly contribution campaigns to raise funds to run our Shaheed Bhagat Singh Library, Mumbai.
Friends, NBS Mumbai runs Shaheed Bhagat Singh Library in Sathe Nagar, a working class area in Mankhurd, Mumbai. Where we run a study center for children (Shaheed Rajguru Shikhsha Sahayta Kendra), organize regular discussions on various topics, movie screenings etc. We also organize Shaheed Sukhdev mobile library in other areas of Mankhurd, where we take the writings of Bhagat Singh with other books on history, geography and science for our regular readers. All the activities are funded not by some corporate CSR donations or any government grant but by working people in Mankhurd and progressive individuals. We are no NGO, who have made Mankhurd/Govandi their testing ground to turn the working masses passive, teaching them not to fight for their right for free and equal education, housing, guaranteed employment, in essence to not question systemic problems. Rather, these NGOs serve their corporate bosses, by asking the working masses to be docile subjects, content with whatever crumbs they throw at us out of the massive profits they make by exploiting our labor.
Hence, we appeal to progressive individuals to step up and contribute to the work we do, like the working people of Mankhurd have been doing.
