दिनांक 20 जुलै 2025 रोजी नौजवान भारत सभा, मुंबईद्वारे शहीद भगतसिंह वाचनालय (मानखुर्द) येथे ‘कोर्ट’ चित्रपटाचे प्रदर्शन आयोजित करण्यात आले. सोबतच चित्रपटात मांडलेल्या सामाजिक मुद्द्यांवर चर्चा करण्यात आली. हा चित्रपट एका राजकीय कार्यकर्त्यावर सुरू असलेल्या खटल्याभोवती फिरतो, जिथे एका सफाई कामगाराच्या मृत्यूचा संदर्भ वापरून राजसत्ता त्याच्यावर अन्यायपूर्वक कारवाई करते. खटल्याच्या पलीकडे, हा चित्रपट बचाव पक्षाचे वकील, सरकारी वकील आणि न्यायाधीश यांच्या जीवनावर व्यंग्यात्मक भाष्य करतो. तो आपल्या समाजात खोलवर रुजलेल्या जातीयवाद, पितृसत्ता, धर्मांधता, अंधश्रद्धा आणि न्यायालयांची निष्क्रियता, यांसारख्या मुद्द्यांवर टीका करतो. चित्रपटाच्या प्रदर्शनानंतर चर्चेत सहभागी लोकांनी देशाच्या सद्यस्थितीवर देखील चर्चा केली. आज एक फॅशिस्ट पक्ष सत्तेत आहे, ज्याने राज्य यंत्रणेत आण्विकरित्या प्रवेश केला आहे . आज राजकीय कार्यकर्ते आणि पत्रकारांवर होणाऱ्या दडपशाहीचा प्रतिबिंब ह्या चित्रपटात दिसतो. बेरोजगारी आणि महागाईसारख्या मुद्द्यांवर सरकारवर टीका करणाऱ्या किंवा प्रश्न उपस्थित करणाऱ्यांवर ‘UAPA’ सारखे काळे कायदे लादले जात आहेत. जणू विद्यमान दडपशाही कायदे पुरेसे नव्हेत, म्हणून भाजपच्या नेतृत्वाखालील महाराष्ट्र सरकार आता जन सुरक्षा कायदा (Public Safety Act) आणण्याचा प्रयत्न करत आहे — एक अत्यंत गैरलोकशाही कायदा, जो प्रशासनाला प्रत्येक विरोध दडपण्यासाठी अमर्याद अधिकार देतो. हा फॅशिस्ट कायदा केवळ भांडवलदारांच्या हितांसाठी काम करतो. सत्ताधाऱ्यांना सर्वाधिक भीती वाटते ती अशा जनतेची — जी संघटित आहे, राजकीयदृष्ट्या जागरूक आहे, आणि भांडवलदार वर्गाच्या शोषणाविरोधात उभी राहून सन्माननीय जीवनाच्या हक्कासाठी संघर्ष करते. म्हणूनच हे सरकार त्यांच्या नवउदारवादी धोरणांवर टीका करणाऱ्या किंवा संघ परिवाराने पसरवलेल्या धार्मिक द्वेषाचा विरोध करणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला तुरुंगात कोंडून टाकण्याचा प्रयत्न करते. या पार्श्वभूमीवर, देशातील तरुणांसमोर संघटित होऊन आपल्या मूलभूत हक्कांसाठी संघर्ष करण्याशिवाय इतर कोणताही पर्याय उरत नाही. हा संघर्ष आपल्या खऱ्या आणि मूलभूत प्रश्नांभोवती केंद्रित असला पाहिजे — रोजगाराचा अधिकार, मोफत आणि समान शिक्षण, सार्वजनिक आरोग्यसेवा आणि आवासाचा अधिकार , हे त्याचे केंद्रबिंदू असले पाहिजेत. जात, धर्म, भाषा यांसारख्या अस्मितेच्या नावाखाली आपल्याला विभागून फॅशिस्ट शक्ती ह्या मुलभूत मुद्द्यांपासून आपले लक्ष्य भरकटवण्याचे प्रयत्न करत आहेत. म्हणूनच, सरकार कितीही कठोर व दडपशाही कायदे लागू करत असले, तरीदेखील आपण आपल्या न्याय्य आणि मूलभूत हक्कांसाठी सातत्याने आवाज बुलंद केले पाहिजे.

The film Court was screened at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Library(Mankhurd), followed by a discussion on both the film and the social realities it portrays. The movie centres on the trial of a political activist, where the death of a sanitation worker is used as a pretext by state authorities to persecute him.
Beyond the trial itself, the film offers a satirical commentary on the lives of the defence lawyer, the public prosecutor, and the judge. It critiques various deep-rooted issues plaguing our society—casteism, patriarchy, religious fundamentalism, superstition, and the passivity of courts that are supposed to deliver justice.
In the discussion that followed the screening, participants reflected on the film in the context of the current situation in the country, where a fascist party is in power and has infiltrated state institutions. The trial of the activist Narayan Kamble in the film closely mirrors the real-life persecution of political activists and journalists today. Draconian laws like the UAPA are routinely invoked against those who dissent or question the government on pressing issues such as unemployment and inflation. As if existing repressive laws weren’t enough, the BJP-led Maharashtra government is now pushing for the Public Security Act — a draconian law that would grant sweeping powers to state authorities to crush dissent. While this fascist regime serves the interests of its capitalist overlords, what it fears most is an organized and politically aware population — one exploited by the capitalist class, yet determined to demand its right to a dignified life.
That is why the regime seeks to suppress anyone who questions its neoliberal policies or opposes the communal hatred propagated by the Sangh Parivar. In such a situation, the youth of this country have no choice but to organize and resist. The struggle must be centered around real issues: the right to guaranteed employment, free and equal education, universal healthcare, and public housing. These are the very demands that fascist forces want to hide by dividing us on the basis of caste, religion, and region. Hence even as new draconian laws are introduced, we must continue to raise our voices for what is just and necessary.
